Job Summary: Supervises the Poker Department and provides protection for games while providing friendly, excellent service to every guest. Tracks players when necessary. Responsible for interviewing; training; selecting and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work; directing the work of employees; maintaining production; appraising employees’ productivity and efficiency for purposes of recommending promotions or other changes (evaluations); handling employees’ complaints; disciplining employees; planning work; providing for safety and security; and monitoring or implementing legal compliance matters.
Skills/Duties:
Qualifications: Five years previous Poker dealing experience is required. Must possess excellent customer relations and communication skills. Must be mathematically inclined. Must be willing to work any day of the week and any shift. Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. Must present a well-groomed appearance.

Managerial Pre-Requisites: Not Applicable

Essential Job Functions: Acknowledges, greets and acts as the Poker Room Host with customers who are waiting to be seated at an active Poker game. Seats customers on available Poker table and lets the Dealer know that there is a new player. Directs and runs the dealer rotation systems. Decides the mix and spread of the poker games. Controls the lists and seating for the games in progress. Oversees the banking functions involved in the running of a shift. Handles the Jack Pot payoffs during the course of a shift. Maintains the Games in Progress board. Makes rules decisions pertaining to games in progress. Oversees the revenue procedures for the shift. Delegates responsibilities to the poker dealing staff. Oversees the over-all cleanliness of the poker area. Monitors the cocktail service. Handles any customer concerns when necessary. Represents the Poker Department in dealings with other departments during the course of a shift. Fills out appropriate paperwork. Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.


Physical & Mental Demands: Must be able to maneuver in between Poker tables. Must be able to reach, pull, bend, crouch and kneel around Poker tables and Poker bank. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Must be able to accurately maintain brush bank and complete mathematical computations when buying and selling chips and/or money with the Cashier. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues. Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
